Individual Care & Enrichment Sessions

Two different programs for two different dogs. Individual Care is for dogs who can't join group play. Enrichment Sessions are an optional extra for social dogs who already do. Here's how each one works and what it costs.

The Short Version

Both programs give your dog personal attention from our team. The difference is why they're getting it.

Required alternative to group play

Individual Care Program

$30 / day

Added to your regular daycare or boarding rate. Not a timed service.

For dogs who can't safely or comfortably join group play. They get private outdoor and bathroom rotations, individual activity and staff time, and rest periods in between, all day long.

How Individual Care works
Optional add-on

Enrichment Sessions

$15 / session

20 minutes each. Add as many as you'd like to any day or stay.

For social dogs already in group play whose parents want extra one-on-one time. A dedicated, timed session with a staff member on top of their normal day.

How Enrichment works

The Individual Care Program

Individual Care is for dogs who are unable to safely or comfortably participate in our group-play program because of temperament, social preferences, age, spay/neuter status, or other individual needs.

Dogs in Individual Care receive private outdoor and bathroom rotations throughout the day, along with individualized play, enrichment, exercise, and staff interaction based on their needs, comfort level, and energy. Comfortable rest periods are built in between scheduled rotations.

Private outdoor and bathroom rotations all day

Individual play, exercise, and enrichment

One-on-one staff interaction throughout the day

Comfortable rest periods between rotations

The $30 is not buying a set amount of one-on-one time. It's a daily specialized-care fee that covers the extra staffing, handling, scheduling, and space management needed to care for a dog outside our group-play environment. It's added to the regular daycare or boarding rate for each applicable day.

Enrichment Sessions

Enrichment Sessions are an optional add-on for social dogs who already take part in group play, but whose parents would like them to get some extra one-on-one attention during their day or stay.

Unlike Individual Care, an Enrichment Session is a dedicated, timed activity layered on top of your dog's normal daycare or boarding experience. Each session runs 20 minutes, and you can book more than one in a day.

One-on-one play with a staff member, fetch or tug

Sniffing and scent games, puzzle activities

Basic command practice and mental stimulation

Cuddles, pets, and individual attention

A dog enrolled in Individual Care does not need an Enrichment Session to get individual attention. Outdoor rotations, exercise, and appropriate activity are already part of their Individual Care day.

Which Dogs Need  Individual Care?

Dogs who do not pass, or are removed from, our social group-play program because of behavioral or safety concerns.

Dogs who are non-social, dog-selective, or simply not comfortable taking part in group play.

Dogs 8 months of age or older who are not spayed or neutered.

Dogs who, at K9 Nanni management's discretion, need individualized care for the safety and comfort of the dog, the other dogs, or our staff.

The $30 Individual Care fee applies to each daycare or boarding day for any dog who meets the criteria above. All dogs still complete our standard $25 evaluation before their first visit.

Which One Fits My Dog?

Your dog already plays with the group

Nothing changes. Their daycare or boarding rate is the same as always, with no Individual Care fee. If you'd like them to get some extra one-on-one time, add an Enrichment Session or two when you book.

Your dog doesn't do group play

They're in Individual Care, and the $30 daily fee applies on top of the regular rate. Enrichment Sessions aren't needed. Individual time with our team is already built into their day.

Individual Care & Enrichment FAQs

What's the difference between Individual Care and an Enrichment Session?

Individual Care is a required alternative to group play for dogs who can't participate in it. Enrichment is an optional extra for dogs who already do participate. One is about how your dog's whole day is managed; the other is a 20-minute activity added onto a normal day.

How much one-on-one time does the $30 buy?

It isn't a timed service, so there's no set number of minutes attached to it. The fee covers the additional staffing, private rotations, handling, scheduling, and space management required to care for your dog separately from our group-play program for the whole day.

Does the $30 fee apply to boarding too?

Yes. The Individual Care fee is added to the regular rate for each applicable daycare or boarding day. See our dog boarding rates and daycare rates for the base pricing.

My dog isn't spayed or neutered yet. What happens?

Dogs over 8 months old must be spayed or neutered to join group play. Until then they're cared for through Individual Care, and the $30 daily fee applies. Once your dog is altered and passes a group-play evaluation, they can move into the social program and the fee stops.

Can my dog move out of Individual Care later?

In many cases, yes. Dogs change as they mature, settle in, or complete training. If our team thinks your dog is ready to try group play again, we'll talk to you about re-evaluating them.

How do I add an Enrichment Session?

Add it when you book your dog's day or stay through your K9 Nanni account, or call the front office. Sessions are $15 each and run 20 minutes.

Is my dog getting less attention in Individual Care?

No. Dogs in Individual Care typically get more direct staff time than dogs in group play, because every rotation, walk, and activity is handled individually rather than as part of a group.

Who decides which program my dog is in?

It starts with your dog's evaluation and continues from there. Our team watches how every dog does in group play, and K9 Nanni management makes the call based on the safety and comfort of your dog, the other dogs, and our staff. We'll always talk it through with you.

Not Sure Which Program Fits Your Dog?

Every dog starts with an evaluation, and that's where we figure it out together. Give us a call or book online, and our team will walk you through what makes the most sense for your pup.
