One-on-One Playtime for Dogs in North Arlington, NJ

Individual playtime at K9 Nanni is a private, staff-led session where your dog gets a handler's full attention: fetch, tug, puzzle games, or quiet cuddle time, depending on what your dog enjoys most.

You can add one-on-one playtime to any daycare day or boarding stay at our facility at 81 Porete Avenue in North Arlington, NJ. It's a good fit for dogs who need a break from the pack, dogs who are nervous in groups, seniors, and any dog who would rather have a person than a crowd.

What Is Individual Dog Playtime?

Most dog daycare revolves around group play, and for a lot of dogs that's the best part of the day. But not every dog is a pack dog, and even social dogs have days when they want something quieter.

Individual playtime gives your dog a dedicated block of one-on-one time with a member of our team. There are no other dogs competing for the ball and no crowd to navigate. Just your dog, a handler who knows them, and an activity chosen around their personality.

‍Session length: 30 minutes per session (we do sessions twice per day)
‍
‍Price: $25 per session, plus tax
‍
‍Available with: daycare days and overnight boarding stays
‍
‍Location: our North Arlington facility, with climate-controlled indoor runs and fenced outdoor yards

Which Dogs Benefit Most From One-on-One Play?

Pet parents from North Arlington, Kearny, Lyndhurst, and across Bergen and Hudson County usually book individual playtime for one of these reasons:

‍🐾 Shy or nervous dogs. Some dogs spend their first few daycare visits on the sidelines. A one-on-one session helps them bond with our staff, which often makes it easier for them to join group play later.

‍🐾 Senior dogs. Older dogs still need exercise and attention, but a yard full of young, bouncy dogs can be too much. Individual play lets them move at their own pace.

🐾 Small dogs and puppies. Short, focused sessions suit small breeds and young puppies who tire quickly or get overwhelmed by bigger dogs.

🐾 Dogs who love a job. Retrievers who live for fetch, or herding breeds who need their brains engaged, often get more from 20 minutes of focused play with a person than from hours of general group play.

🐾 Boarding dogs who miss home. Overnight stays can be unsettling, especially the first night or two. A daily cuddle session gives your dog a consistent source of comfort while you're away.

🐾 Dogs who don't enjoy group play. Some dogs are wonderful with people but simply don't love other dogs. Individual playtime gives dogs who haven't been approved for group play a chance to enjoy one-on-one attention, play, and enrichment with our staff.

What Happens During Individual Playtime?

Every session is shaped around your dog. There's no fixed script, and our team adjusts based on your dog's energy and mood that day. Common activities include:

🐾 Fetch and ball play: high-energy exercise without competition from other dogs

🐾 Tug games: great for confidence building and burning energy in a short window

🐾 Puzzle toys and snuffle mats: mental enrichment that tires dogs out as effectively as physical play

🐾 Cuddle time: quiet, hands-on attention for dogs who mainly want a lap and a scratch behind the ears

If your dog has a favorite game, tell us when you book and we can build the session around it!

Individual Playtime vs. Group Play:
Which Is Right for Your Dog?

Both offer exercise, enrichment, and attention. Many dogs at K9 Nanni enjoy group play and individual playtime on the same day, with each meeting a different need.

🐾 Group Daycare Play: Group play is a great fit for social, confident dogs who enjoy other dogs. It offers exercise, companionship, and mental stimulation as dogs interact, practice social skills, and play together. Your dog can join group play during a full or half day of daycare, following approval.

🐾 Individual Playtime: Individual playtime gives your dog one-on-one attention from a staff member, with activities matched to their energy, interests, and comfort level. Sessions may include puzzles, games, gentle play, or quiet companionship. It’s an option for shy, senior, small, or selective dogs, including those who haven’t been approved for group play. Dogs who enjoy daycare can also benefit from a break and focused time with staff. Add an individual session to your dog’s daycare or boarding stay.

🐾 A Little of Both: For a high-energy dog, morning group play followed by an individual afternoon session can offer a helpful balance. Your dog gets social time with other dogs, then personal attention and activities at their own pace before pickup.

Add Individual Playtime to Daycare or Boarding

🐾 With daycare: Add a session to any full or half daycare day. Weekday daycare is $52 for a full day and $42 for a half day (up to 4 hours), plus tax. Hoboken, Harrison, and parts of Jersey City clients can add weekday door-to-door pickup.

🐾 With boarding: Overnight guests at K9 Nanni already get a private room, a structured daily routine, and daytime access to daycare. Adding individual playtime or cuddle sessions also gives them one-on-one attention every day of their stay. Many pet parents add a session for each day their dog is with us, especially for first-time boarders and longer trips.

Individual sessions pair well with our other enrichment extras, including snuffle mats, frozen yogurt, stuffed Kongs, and calming treats for anxious pups.

FAQs: Individual Dog Playtime in NJ

What is individual playtime at a dog daycare?

It's a private session where one staff member gives one dog their full attention through play, enrichment games, or cuddle time, instead of the dog spending that time in a group. At K9 Nanni in North Arlington, NJ, it's available as an add-on to daycare and boarding.

Can my dog get individual playtime if they don't do well in group daycare?

Ask our team during your dog's $25 evaluation. We'll assess your dog and recommend the option that fits their temperament.

Can I add individual playtime during boarding?

Yes. Many pet parents add a daily one-on-one or cuddle session for dogs boarding with us, especially for first stays and longer trips.

How much does one-on-one dog playtime cost at K9 Nanni?

Individual playtime is $25 per session, plus tax, added to a daycare day or boarding stay. Call (201) 998-9663 for current pricing.

Is individual playtime good for senior dogs?

Can I watch my dog during the day?

Log in to your account for live camera access during outdoor daycare playtime, and follow K9 Nanni on Instagram and Facebook for daily photos and videos. Photos of their individual play/cuddle time sessions can be purchased as an add-on.
